I do not consider myself to be a traditional talk therapist and don’t believe in an “one-size fits all” method. Therefore, I am trained in multiple therapies to meet the needs of the client. Below are a few of the most effective, powerful therapies that contribute to the healing process.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a form of brain stimulation that has been used to identify and heal underlying trauma. It can also be applied with performance enhancement in order help people who experience anxiety, depression or other conditions become more creative at what they do best.

The process starts by locating points within the visual field where there may have been an accident/trauma fifty years ago for instance which would lead them towards healing those memories through processing as well psychosomatic symptoms associated wth post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

ART is a type of psychotherapy that has been rooted in existing evidence-based treatments but shown to work much faster. The client controls every aspect of their session, with the therapist guiding them through it all and helping bring about positive changes quickly when needed most.

The therapy is very straightforward and uses relaxing eye movements to change the way in which you think about your trauma. It also has techniques like Voluntary Memory/Image Replacement, which helps replace negative images with more hopeful ones.  The process makes it easier for people who have experienced terrible things like rape or combat exposure to get beyond where they’re stuck dwelling on these events so that eventually growth can happen.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences.  Repeated studies show how by using this form of treatment, those who experience severe pain can achieve relief in much less time than would be expected traditionally.

With EMDR therapy, the mind has a natural tendency to heal itself, just as your body does when you cut yourself. The human brain is a naturally occurring information processor that moves toward mental health.  When the system becomes blocked or imbalanced by an event, such as trauma exposure in childhood, it can lead towards emotional wounds festering and causing intense suffering.  However, once this block has been removed, healing resumes again.
