About Us
I am a native of Jacksonville, FL and love my hometown! I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Master’s degree Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in in the State of Florida and also a Qualified Clinical Supervisor which allows me the opportunity to supervise and mentor counseling interns aspiring licensure. My 20 year career spans from public housing social services, domestic violence counseling, military active duty mental health case management, and hospital case management which includes addressing psychosocial distress in individuals diagnosed with cancer. I have had the honor of counseling retired military veterans through trauma work, those who suffer from grief, adolescent behavior problems, geriatrics and individuals who simply feel overwhelmed by life’s stressors.
I don’t consider myself to be a traditional talk therapist, therefore I specialize in therapies known as Brainspotting, EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy; all of which are effective in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem and other mental health challenges. I make every effort to provide the best counseling experience through a gentle, welcoming and peaceful space.
When I am not engaged in the emotional healing process, I enjoy exercising, spending time with my family, dedicating myself to my church, volunteering, local and international travel and hanging with my closest friends. I always find myself seeking new opportunities to engage in anything that brings me joy!
